The Tennessee Behavioral Health Pathways Scholarship Initiative offers up to $15,000 per academic year to help a Tennessee resident pay for tuition in a behavioral health master’s degree program at an accredited Tennessee college or university.

After completion of the degree, the recipients of this scholarship will work at a community-based agency that provides mental health and/or substance abuse services funded by the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (TDMHSAS) and which is an organizational member of either the Tennessee Association of Alcohol, Drug, and other Addiction Services (TAADAS) or the Tennessee Association of Mental Health Organizations (TAMHO).

The period of work required will approximate the amount of award for the scholarship. In other words, one year of full-time scholarship will necessitate one year of working in an acceptable agency setting.

Completion of the stated period of work commensurate with the scholarship period is a condition of receiving the Tennessee Behavioral Health Pathways Scholarship. Failure to complete the work requirement may result in a request for repayment of scholarship funds.

TAMHO and TAADAS are partners in the processing of applications, monitoring the awards process, and confirming completion of work at the community-based agency.

If selected, you will be required to upload documentation of enrollment over the next few months into this application.
